Senior Minister

Stuart has lived on the northern beaches for most of the last 18 years. Before entering full-time paid ministry he worked as an architect. Stuart enjoys surfing, coffee, rugby, and most of all, his family. He is married to Cate, and together they have three growing boys.

Stuart completed his theological studies at Regent College, Vancouver and Moore Theological College, Sydney. He has also taught at Wesley Institute for Ministry and the Arts.

Pastoral responsibilities: As Senior Minister, Stuart is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the staff and church as a whole. This includes pastoral oversight of all the congregations. He has particular responsibility for the Palm Beach and 8am & 10am Avalon congregations.

Associate Minister

Jaime grew up just north of the Harbour Bridge in Sydney. Before entering full-time paid ministry he worked for a number of years as a high school teacher, and Head of Department, in Sydney and in the west-country of England. His interests include reading, cycling & all things to do with coffee. He is married to Katrina, and together they have three delightful children: Sam, Cameron and Emily.

Jaime began his theological studies in London, at the Cornhill Training Course, and graduated from Moore Theological College in 2005.

Pastoral responsibilities: Jaime has particular responsibility for the 6.00pm congregation at Avalon, and shares responsibility with Stuart for the 10am congregation at Avalon.

Honorary Associate Minister

Sally Longley

Sally is married to Jim, and they have two teenage children.  She was born in Australia and left home to attend University in South Africa.  After graduating with BA (Hons) and MA, she lectured at Rhodes University in Urban Studies before leaving for London to study Theology. She then returned to South Africa and worked in chaplaincy at several universities in South Africa. Sally later became Missions Director for the Student Cross-Cultural Missions Program in South Africa, leading a program for graduates in missiology and ethics, and placing graduates in areas of their expertise (engineering, medicine, education) in places such as China, France, Germany, rural South Africa, Kenya, Brazil, Madagascar, USA.

Sally was a Board member for the Anglican Missions Association for Southern Africa, and a South African representative to the Lausanne Conference on Evangelism held in the Philippines.
Returning to Australia after 16 years, Sally lectured at the Australian Catholic University in the Geography Department, and also lectured in Ethics in the Dept of Religious Education. She spent some years on the Board of the New College Values Institute, UNSW, and on the Social Issues Commission for the Anglican Church.

In 2005-6 along with her family, Sally spent a year at the Mennonite Seminary in Indiana where she studied spiritual formation and spiritual direction.
