Aim:
Develop a Culture of Prayer that spans the diversity of our church’s regular meetings and daily life
Goals:
- For all church members to grow in their personal prayer lives.
- For all church members to grow in corporate prayer/praying with others.
- To have a larger team of people leading prayers in church.
- Each church member to be praying regularly with another member of our church (discipleship friend, prayer triplet, etc).
It is not always easy to measure our progress in these important areas of ministry. Even so, we will seek to find reliable ways of monitoring our progress. Goals 1 and 2 above will best measured subjectively through survey and report. Goals 3 and 4 can be measured objectively.
Programs:
- Provide ‘Tools’ for personal prayer: encouragement and ‘how to’ tips.
- Interviews/testimonies in church on “How I Pray At Home”
- Sermons and seminars on Prayer; especially considering different ‘modes’ of prayer
- One Prayer Night per term in place of Home Groups. This meeting to be ‘accessible’ and focussed on particular topics
- Prayer foci for Missionaries and Muslims, each for one month of the year.
- Expand the numbers of people leading prayers in each congregation through suitable training.
- Develop a prayer team for each congregation to provide follow-up and counsel after each meeting. This will require training and development with staff.
- Develop a weekly prayer letter, providing a list of current prayer requests.
